My name is April Stanley, CEO and founder of SISTAZ Reaching Out. I started SISTAZ Reaching Out in October 2002. SISTAZ Reaching Out is a community focused organization committed to improving the lives of women and girls. SISTAZ Reaching Out was established in 2002 in New York to reach out to women. The idea came to myself while speaking to different women in which were going through similar situations. I was excited to meet the different women of different demographic backgrounds. I tried to inspire the women; to help each individual feel better about herself. Although I listened and learned of what they were going through (good or bad), it affected me as well; I felt what they felt.

I decided that I would do everything in my power to inspire other women to be all that they could be. I wanted the joy of knowing that I'd reached out to support and inspire women who crossed my path.      I believed that women need one another to be strong for each other, for their families and kids; women understand women. I have been through a lot of difficult times in my life. I believe myself as well as others can truly help and be there for one another. “When sistas reach out to sistas, we can achieve anything and realize our dreams.”        SRO is the first stepping stone to help women and our youth. I believe if we come together as one, we can do anything together. "It's time for women to come together. We have to; first, work on ourselves to be strong, loving women for our families and our communities. Second, we have to do all we can to let each other know that we support one another. I see us women as a hand......I would like to close that hand and make a solid fist....this is the bond I would like for us to have, where nothing will be able to break that bond and unfold that fist."      SISTAZ Reaching Out achieves its goals by providing motivational and support and understanding; as well as dedication and other tangible support to women and our youth.
