Who are we....and what we are about?
S.I.S.T.A.Z.
Reaching Out (SRO) is a not-for-profit organization (in the process of
becoming a 501(c)3 and Charitable Registered Organization) looking to
provide services for women and youth. SRO
works in different communities....so far servicing New York City and
Bridgeport, CT areas.
Our goal is to help other women with similar issues and
discuss how we survived; and to provide help and support to those women
and youth so that they can overcome their obstacle through referrals and
other resources and the assistance from SRO.
Our Communities:
In our communities we have several families
without income or help or are in shelters Families dealing with different
issues, like:
1. Domestic Violence
2. Health issues
3. HIV/AIDS
4. Homeless
As with most of the staff of SRO,
we
have experienced the same or similar life difficulties.
We
are offering our concern and services to individuals within these
situations. We would like to provide them with the first stepping stone of
getting started to change their lives and let it be aware that someone out
there understands what they are going through and someone is out there
that can help them get through these obstacles in life; that is where SRO
steps in.
We will be providing these
services.....
1. Mentoring - We are mentors that will provide mentoring which makes a
difference to our youth. We would like our mentees to show more
initiative, self-direction and leadership
2. Peer Counseling
3. Crisis Intervention and Counseling
4. Individual Counseling
5. Youth Leadership
6. Educational and Recreational Groups
7. Training

Job Development
8. Referral Services
9. After-school tutoring
There will be other services and future services we will be providing.
This is just a start of our women and youth becoming ONE FAMILY WITH
SRO.
